THE BREW

The Brew (formerly Alley Bar), moved to Yangshuo Mountain Retreat in 2019. The Brew is one of the longest living Yangshuo restaurants under the previous guidance of Andy - a long-time beloved chef from Austria. Andy taught our local staff to make his same excellent breads, pasta, steaks, burgers and salads with homemade sauces. He also makes outstanding home brewed beer, so be sure to ask him about it. The Brew bar offers Duvel, Vedett, Goose Island, Beer Lao, local bottles German weizen and some of the best western food in Yangshuo.

DEMO

Originally run by Wuhan native Wu Wei and his fiance Emma from the UK, DEMO is a very local style bar. Featuring Tripsmith craft beer from neighboring Guizhou Province, DEMO serves world-class IPAs, amber ales, pilsners, porters and stouts. There is occasional live music and best of all in good weather you can sit out on the terrace overlooking the Li River and mountains. Great pizza and homemade snacks too!

THE GROOVE

The Groove was opened in 2024 and has become the go-to hangout for foreigners living and working in Yangshuo. With a selection of local craft and imported beers, The Groove also serves Western and Indian food. It's on Chengbei Lu, just behind Guihua Lu, which is a somewhat quieter pedestrian street that's great for people watching from the spacious terrace. Here you'll find a mix of local and foreign climbers, English teachers, Chinese language students and other long time expats.

Located down West Street on the 6th floor of the Alshan Hotel, you take an elevator to the top and can enjoy the best city views among Yangshuo bars. At Mojo there is a pool table, cold beer and very reasonably priced cocktails. Staff are friendly and the vibe is chill. Weekends can be busy especially after 9pm, but it's a fun crowd, sometimes enjoying a game of beer pong. Good music and nice atmosphere, a great choice among Yangshuo bars since 2015.

TK PUB

One of the few taprooms in Yangshuo, this new bar located on Pantao Lu next to the Green Lotus Hotel has several high quality local craft beers on tap. The bar is located upstairs from the main road on the 2nd floor, featuring limited seating at the bar and patio tables. There are not many Yangshuo bars offering this selection and quality of local draft beer, so if you're a fan, TK pub is an excellent choice. It's just a 10 minute walk from West Street.

West Street is 8km from Yangshuo Village Inn. Options: bicycle (20 minutes, free bikes provided, ride carefully at night), taxi (10 minutes, ¥30-40), or our driver service (¥40-60 depending on pickup time). We recommend taxi or driver for night returns. Reception arranges transport and provides West Street maps with bar locations marked.

Does Yangshuo Village Inn have a bar?

Yangshuo Village Inn has a rooftop restaurant/lounge serving beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits with spectacular karst mountain sunset views. Perfect for relaxed drinks rather than party atmosphere. Open until 10pm typically, later by request. Many guests enjoy pre-dinner drinks on our rooftop before heading to West Street for nightlife.

What time do Yangshuo bars close?

Most Yangshuo bars stay open until 1-2am, with popular clubs extending to 3am on weekends. Chinese regulations technically require 2am closing but enforcement varies. Many guests bicycle there in daylight and taxi back after nightlife.
