CULTURE

Among the many Yangshuo cultural attractions, a favorite with Village Inn guests is the Impression Liu Sanjie show. Featuring a cast of hundreds performing on a Li River outdoor water stage. Liu Sanjie is a stunning mix of light, sound and choreography, all experienced in an outdoo amphitheatre. Impression Liu Sanjie was created by Zhang Yimou, director of the 2008 Beijing Olympics of such famous Chinese movies as Raise the Red Lantern and Red Sorgum.

Apart from Liu Sanjie, our guests also really enjoy cormorant fishing, the Yangshuo cooking school and caligraphy classes. We can organize all cultural activities with no commission upon booking or at the front desk.

OUTDOOR

Yangshuo has long been an outdoor adventurer's playground with wide ranging activities that are unique to the geography of the area. In the 1990's Yangshuo was discovered by western rock climbers and has since become one of the most popular climbing destinations in Asia. You can find more on Yangshuo climbing in a new book by our friend, American climber Andrew Hadesh.

The most popular Yangshuo things to do when it comes to outdoor adventures include Yulong River bamboo rafting, caving, hiking and trail biking. If you're heading to the Yulong River Scenic Area and our sister hotel Yangshuo Mountain Retreat, we recommend the 5km Yulong River walk from the hotel parking area and featuring some of the most gorgeous scenery in Yangshuo. The main river road continues 5km further to Dragon Bridge (Yulong Bridge)

LONGSHENG

While Yangshuo has endless acres of emerald green rice fields, Longsheng and Ping'An, just 90 minutes north of Guilin feature spectacular terraced fields on steep hills, known as the Dragon Back rice terraces. From the Yangshuo Village Inn, the best way to visit is to get up early and take a taxi through Guilin, visit the terraces then fly out from Guilin airport in the evening. You can also spend the night in Ping'An village. Yangshuo Village Inn reception can help you plan this trip to make the most of your Guilin Yangshuo tour.

GUILIN

Guilin China is located 90km from Yangshuo and has some interesting attractions that are definitely worth an overnight stay, or at least a day trip. The city is known for its beautiful natural scenery, pleasant weather, and numerous hotels, such as the Sheraton and Shangri-la that command amazing views across the Li River.
